The compression level slider (0-9) maps directly to JSZip's compression level: 0 skips compression and just packages files together as fast as possible, while 9 spends more CPU time searching for redundancy to shrink the result further.

Because DEFLATE looks for repeated byte patterns, it does the most good on plain text, CSVs, and uncompressed formats like BMP or WAV; files that are already compressed, JPEGs, MP4s, existing ZIPs, will barely shrink no matter what level you pick, since there's little redundancy left for it to find.
