Short version: We don't collect your files or personal data.
Almost all tools on GIF Tools process files locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images, videos, GIFs and audio files are never uploaded to any server. We don't store them, we can't see them, and we don't share them with anyone.
1. Information We Collect
Files you process: We do not collect, store, or transmit any files you upload or process. All GIF editing, video conversion, image compression, and audio processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm). Your files never leave your device.
Usage data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., number of page visits, tool usage counts) to improve the service. This data does not contain any personally identifiable information.
Technical data: Like most websites, our server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This data is used for security and diagnostic purposes only and is automatically deleted after 30 days.
2. Tools That Use External Services
Most tools work entirely in your browser. The following tools make external network requests:
Video Downloader
Uses yt-dlp running on your own machine. No data is sent to our servers.
Video Transcriber
Sends audio to OpenAI Whisper API for transcription. Your OpenAI API key is used directly and is never stored by us.
URL Shortener
Sends the URL you provide to is.gd to generate a short link.
Thumbnail Extractor
Fetches publicly accessible thumbnail URLs from YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms.
3. Cookie Policy
GIF Tools uses a minimal number of cookies and browser storage mechanisms:

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking scripts.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties. The only exception is when you explicitly use a tool that connects to an external service (listed in Section 2), in which case data is shared only with that service as described.
5. Children's Privacy
GIF Tools does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have used the URL Shortener or Thumbnail Extractor, those services (is.gd, YouTube, TikTok) have their own privacy policies governing that data.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
